Take On Sedona

Your missiles crashing into my waterfall

Inside of this world I’ve known for far too long

Make your choice in the hardest of times

Even though it may be impossible to try

I’m going through the rubble trying to piece myself together. I’ll hate this new person; I already do

Was I ever even whole?

Crawling my way through

The rubble heavy like quicksand

Questioning where I stand

The fire burning my flesh and stuffing my insides with smoke and turning to soot

I can't—pathetic, useless

I use the rubble to construct who you see me as: angry, joyful, fearful, outgoing, weak, strong

I remake the person I want to be, or never imagine myself surviving

How do I know who I am?

An inextinguishable fire cementing itself as the waterfall’s tormentor

The waterfall will survive with its damage

I can fix this; just put out an inextinguishable fire and somehow stack rock and dirt—will cement work?

It can be fixed; it’ll be fine

Everything will be okay, right?

Maybe it can be something new

A lake perhaps? A forest?

It will be something totally different and will have a choice in what it will become

My land is reimagined to be proud of who it was and what it is now
