Weirdly Unique

I never accomplished a reading level consistent with my grade. 

My schoolwork was never displayed on the board. 

Girls would gossip, and I was left out at recess like I've done something wrong,

Too shy to say the first thing. 

Everyone is weirdly unique in their own special way 

My work done at the last possible second 

I played conversations over and over again to find where I messed up.. 

Being adopted by friends 

Always smile, you don't need them. 

I knew that I was weird and stupid and different 

You don't know what you're not knowing 

And then a video… 

ADHD, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, where my brain can't process feel-good chemicals. 

Describing my experiences, the way my brain worked 

Having watched many of them, I finally know I am unique.

Deciding I had it and getting my diagnosis brought relief that I could rely on the people 

Which medicine seems to scrutinise. 

Everyone is weirdly unique in their own special way.

My own saying of survival.

There are people like me who I can learn from and relate to.

I was so young, and I knew I wasn't alone.
